Dune Road Beach House
Located on a barrier island on the east end of Long Island, the Dune Road House is a study in elemental architectural geology and transparency. Floating between the ocean and the inland bay, the house is reduced to the simplest of interlocking structures, ship-like, with all artifice of design or style removed so that the form relates entirely to the water and the horizon beyond. The upper level contains the public living spaces and the private sleeping spaces are below.
