Architect Matthew Bialecki and Make-A-Wish Foundation to Help Make Ulster Park Boy's Wish Come True

Award-winning New Paltz, NY architect Matthew Biaelcki, AIA of Bialecki Architects (BA) is working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley to grant the wish of 5-year-old Ulster Park boy Willy. The boy, who has a life-threatening medical condition, requires multi-sensory stimulation as part of his daily recovery program. His family's wish for him is that his room be an attractive, stimulating, fun environment that will assist in his recovery.

BA has visited the home and met with the family as well as the boy's physical and occupational therapists. Preliminary plans are to design the room as a "playroom" with room decorations (painting, wallpaper, murals, etc.) and play equipment (swing, slide, tumble mats, ball pit, castle blocks, cave, etc.). Thematically, it will be a "playground," filled with safe, fun play "equipment" that will be therapeutically just what Willy needs.

The project is being coordinated by local Make-A-Wish "Wish Magician" Joanne Crimi.
