The Ackerman barn and cabin on 110 acres in Columbia County are the first stages of a property master plan that will include the building of a larger family home and outbuildings on the property. The master plan incorporates paths and landscaping that will link these structures with a “forest cabin,” a “river house,” and a “pond gazebo.”
The architecture is designed to recall the rural character of 19th Century Columbia county; modest homes and stately barns that create a beautiful presence with very simple forms.
